QCTO Capacitation Workshops 2025

The QCTO launches nationwide capacitation workshops for all accredited and prospective private Skills Development Providers (SDPs) to advance its vision of “qualifying a skilled and capable workforce.” These workshops are designed to equip SDPs with the knowledge and tools needed to fully understand and comply with QCTO’s quality assurance standards, thereby improving the quality of education and training for occupational qualifications with a strong focus on learner competency. This initiative reflects QCTO’s ongoing commitment to stakeholder engagement, advocacy, and raising public awareness in support of Skills Development Providers.

The demand for accreditation and implementation of occupational qualifications, part qualifications, and skills programmes continues to grow. This is particularly significant as pre-2009 qualifications and unit standards are phased out, making way for industry-relevant qualifications aligned with current and future economic needs. These. These capacitation sessions will specifically address these challenges by focusing on the distinctive requirements of occupational qualifications, part qualifications and skills programmes, including workplace integration and updated assessment practices.

Key Focus Areas of the Capacitation Workshops:

  • Pre-2009 Transitional Arrangements to support migration to occupational qualifications.
  • Implementation of Occupational Qualifications/Part-Qualifications, and Skills Programmes.
  • Quality Assurance Processes.


  • Key Focus Areas of the Capacitation Workshops:
  • Stay up to date with the latest QCTO processes and quality assurance standards.
  • Get practical support on compliance, learner enrolment, and the implementation of Occupational Qualifications, Part-Qualifications and Skills Programmes.
  • Network with QCTO officials and other accredited Skills Development Providers.
  • Recognise the crucial contribution of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in improving the quality of education and training.
  • Advise on the management of staff employment issues.
  • Consider and monitor budgets strategic and annual performance plans.
  • Monitor the relations and interactions of the QCTO with the National Skills Authority, Umalusi, the Council on Higher Education and South African Qualifications Authority
  • Perform any other function or duty delegated to it by the QCTO or conferred by the QCTO constitution
  • Take on the role of the Information Technology Strategy Committee and
  • Approve actions in line with the Delegations of Authority as approved by Council.


  • How to Attend
  • The QCTO will host provincial workshops across all nine (9) provinces. Stay connected and check regularly for updates on the workshop schedule and venue details in your province.
  • Attendance is by registration only. No walk-ins will be permitted on the day of the event. All participants must register in advance using the online form provided in the invitation.
  • Once registered, a confirmation email containing a reference number will be sent to all attendees. This confirmation must be presented at the venue to gain entry.
